Aloe Littoralis
A stunning, large, solitary Aloe with a trunk that is covered in dead leaves to about 4 m tall and holds a dense crown of grayish-green leaves. The large inflorescence can reach 2 m tall and is much branched into upright racemes with pinkish-red flowers. It is native to much of southern Africa, where it grows in dry grass or woodland from low elevations to 1700 m on sandy ground. In cultivation it is best suited to tropical and some warm temperate climates in USDA Zones 9 and above.
